Production orders take over the routing and bill of materials of the released article version and are scheduled backwards from the due date on the Gantt planning board against shift and machine capacity per day. Downtimes and approved absences reduce available capacity, the shop-floor tablet reports quantities and times, and the post-calculation compares actual and target costs per operation.

CRQM schedules production orders with the operations from the routing on an interactive Gantt planning board. Rows are machines, bars are operations; the colour shows the order, the frame shows the planning stage: simulation, planned or released. Scheduling runs backwards from the due date: setup time plus cycle time multiplied by lot size, checked against the machine's shift capacity per day.

The capacity is the real one: shift models per site, machine calendars with devices usable in parallel, recorded machine downtimes and approved absences from time management. Downtimes block capacity but never automatically move operations that are already scheduled; the scheduling decision stays with the planner.

On the shop floor, everything runs through the tablet: call up the operation by QR code, start setup and production, report quantities and faults, view the drawing, measure inspection characteristics from the inspection plan. The feedback feeds the target/actual comparison, the post-calculation and the runtime counters of maintenance planning. Bills of materials, routings and costing all work on the same article version.

What happens on the planning board when a machine breaks down?

You record the downtime per machine, day and shift. The affected shifts immediately have zero capacity and appear hatched in red on the planning board. New scheduling runs plan around the block, also across weekends. Operations already scheduled within the downtime are deliberately not moved automatically; they remain visible and you reschedule them individually.

How does feedback from the shop floor get into the system?

Via the shop-floor tablet. The employee logs in with a badge or PIN, calls up the operation by QR code, starts setup or production, records the quantity and reject quantity and reports faults with a fault reason. Actual times and quantities are immediately available in the target/actual comparison, in the post-calculation and in the runtime counters of maintenance planning.

Can I check whether an order is feasible before I release it?

Yes. Every production order passes through the planning stages simulation, planned, released and completed. In the simulation stage, the order is scheduled backwards against real capacity without affecting released production. Only on release does it become visible to the shop floor.
